Last week we were at Lomé (Togo). In the one week course on “Vulnerability and Risk Assessment using Remote Sensing and GIS”, together with our leading partner from UNU and partners from Red Cross, Togo ten students from the WASCAL (West African Science Service Center for Climate Change and Adapted Land Use) masters research program

in Lomé on “Climate Change and Human Security” were taught in the utilization of GPS, GIS and Remote Sensing. Finally the participants were able to give a presentation on the security conditions in a regularly flooded area in Lomé.
